Footsteps of the Apostles is a sacred 7-night pilgrimage to Rome, the Eternal City, where faith and history come alive. Itinerary Overview

Rome - The Eternal City

Day 1 - Arrival into Rome

Nov 6

Pilgrims arrive in Rome throughout the day and transfer to our hotel near Vatican City. In the late afternoon, we take a relaxed walk to St. Peter’s Square for our first view of St. Peter’s Basilica and gather for a brief opening prayer to begin our pilgrimage. The evening concludes with a welcome dinner at a nearby Roman trattoria as we celebrate the start of our journey in the Eternal City. 

Day 2 - Ancient Rome

Today we explore the remarkable legacy of ancient Rome, walking through the heart of the once-great Roman Empire. Our journey includes visits to the iconic Colosseum, the historic ruins of the Roman Forum, and the heights of Palatine Hill, where emperors once ruled. We also see the site of the ancient Circus Maximus, imagining the chariot races that once thrilled thousands. As we encounter these monumental landmarks, we reflect on the world into which the early Christian Church was born and beg

Day 3 - Vatican & Sacred Rome

The day begins with morning Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica, where pilgrims experience the spiritual heart of the Catholic Church and view masterpieces such as Michelangelo’s Pietà. We then explore Rome’s historic center, visiting the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, and beautiful churches including Santa Maria Sopra Minerva and Sant’Ignazio di Loyola. Our day concludes at the iconic Trevi Fountain, one of Rome’s most beloved landmarks. 

Day 4 - Vatican Museum & The Sistine Chapel

Today we dedicate our day to exploring Vatican City, the spiritual and administrative heart of the Catholic Church. Our visit includes the renowned Vatican Museums, home to centuries of art, history, and sacred treasures, culminating in the breathtaking Sistine Chapel, where Michelangelo’s magnificent ceiling and The Last Judgment inspire pilgrims from around the world. We conclude our visit with time to explore the Vatican Museum gift shop 

Day 5 - Basilicas & Baroque Rome

 Today we explore the beauty of Rome’s historic center, beginning at the elegant Spanish Steps, Piazza di Spagna, and the church of Trinità dei Monti, overlooking the famous Fountain of the Broken Boat. Throughout the day we continue our pilgrimage with visits to important churches and basilicas, including San Lorenzo in Lucina, and San Luigi dei Francesi, discovering the rich spiritual and artistic heritage that fills the Eternal City. 

Day 6 - Castles & Sacred Churches

Our day begins at the historic Castel Sant’Angelo, the fortress that has guarded the Vatican for centuries and offers sweeping views of the Eternal City. After exploring the museum, we continue our pilgrimage through Rome’s historic center, visiting beautiful and significant churches including Sant’Agnese in Agone, Il Gesù, Chiesa Nuova, and Santa Maria della Pace, each reflecting the rich spiritual and artistic heritage of the Church. 

Day 7 - Papal Basilicas & Final Pilgrimage Sites

 On our final day in Rome, we complete our pilgrimage with visits to several of the city’s most sacred sites, including the Papal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, the Basilica of St. John Lateran, the cathedral of Rome, and the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, built over the tomb of the Apostle Paul. We will also experience the revered Scala Santa and the Sancta Sanctorum, concluding our journey with prayer and reflection. 

Day 8 - Departure from Rome

 After breakfast, pilgrims transfer to the airport for their return flight home, carrying with them the memories, prayers, and spiritual experiences gathered throughout their pilgrimage in the Eternal City. 

$3777.00 per person

Price is per person, based on double occupancy and is based on exchange rates as of February 1, 2026.  Price includes accommodations, admission tickets, and sightseeing as outlined in the itinerary.  Local private ground transfers are provided, as needed.  Round-trip airfare is not included and may be arranged separately, or we can arrange your flight for you for an additional fee.  A limited number of single occupancy rooms may be available for an additional fee.
